No ads, today
There is no advertising SDK in the current RadioShake build, and no ads shown anywhere in the app. An optional ad-supported tier may launch in future, but it would never paywall features that already work today — your favourites and history stay free either way.
No account required
There is no sign-up, login, or account creation flow anywhere in RadioShake. Install it from Google Play and it works immediately — browsing, favourites, and playback all function without identifying yourself to anyone.
What RadioShake actually collects
"No ads, no account" is not the same claim as "no data collection," and we'd rather be precise than sound better than we are. Release builds of the app include two Google Firebase SDKs:
Firebase Crashlytics
Anonymous crash stack traces, so crashes we can't reproduce ourselves still get fixed. Switched off in debug builds.
Firebase Analytics
A small, fixed set of anonymous product-signal events: review_prompt_eligible, review_flow_result, and about_website_tapped. What you listen to is never logged.
These SDKs generate a per-installation identifier and send device and app metadata (model, OS version, app version, coarse region) to Google. There is no cross-app tracking and no advertising identifier is used. Uninstalling the app resets the identifier. Your favourites and listening history are stored locally on your device only and are never sent to any server. Full detail, including the exact permissions RadioShake requests, is in the privacy notice.
What this means in practice
- No login screen, ever — open the app and start listening.
- No banner ads, interstitials, or video ads in the current build.
- No selling or sharing of data with advertisers.
- Anonymous crash reports and three named product-signal events, disclosed above and in the privacy notice.
- Listening history and favourites never leave your device.
